We’re still one, with only at most 8 differences bweteen the mtDNA of two individuals, and we shall be for some time. Only when you know the state of the world can you make judgements about how to progress in it. Understanding that state requires knowing how it came to be.
Most preachers say that the end of the law means that we don’t need to follow the old testament laws to be saved. That before Christ was crucified people were saved by obeying the laws God gave. And now we are saved by accepting the atonement of Jesus.
Salvation has always been by grace through faith in God in the Old Testament and in the New. Much confusion exist about the role of the law, (right now I’m just talking about the 10 commandments). The role of the law has always been to define what is sin (1 John 3:4 Sin is the breaking of God’s law the 10 commandments) So a real Christian will understand the proper role of the law and submit to its authority. Yes you’re right most preachers say we don’t need to keep the law and if you do you’re guilty of trying to earn your salvation.
