Excuses Christians Use For Not Keeping The Law #7

We’re not under the Old Covenant we’re under the New Covenant.  Does the New Covenant dismiss our need to obey the laws of God?

(Luke 17:7 KJV)  But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

(Luke 17:8 KJV)  And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?

(Luke 17:9 KJV)  Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

(Luke 17:10 KJV)  So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

(Jeremiah 31:31 KJV)  Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

(Jeremiah 31:32 KJV)  Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

(Hebrews 8:7 KJV)  For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

(Hebrews 8:8 KJV)  For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

(Jeremiah 31:33 KJV)  But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

(Jeremiah 31:34 KJV)  And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

(Luke 4:4 KJV)  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

(Deuteronomy 5:16 KJV)  Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
