Did Jesus Abolish The Law?

Christians are wondering why Christianity has not made a greater impact when it comes to creating a Godly society. The reason is due to Christian theology. The antinomian teaching that says Christians are free from the moral law by virtue of grace has created the godless society that we see today.

Biblical Facts:

Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Historical Facts:

A frequent phrase often heard is “The Law has been done away!” Where did this idea come from? Is there a Scripture that tells us that any of God’s Law has been annulled, changed or rendered void? Yes, there is! In Hebrews, chapter 7, verse 12 there is this statement: “For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.” The law of the priesthood was not created at the Beginning. It was instituted later in Exodus 28, during the wilderness time of Israel after leaving Egypt. This was not a morality law, it was a ritual law. It did not define how one is to behave, it laid out the procedures for worship. With Jesus becoming our High Priest and not being of the tribe of Levi, it was necessary to change the requirement for the High Priest to be of that tribe.

So, where are the Scriptures giving us any explanation of any law being done away with, besides the one mentioned? Ask any devout law-hating Christian and you will be given a plethora of such Scriptures. The problem is that these Scriptures don’t plainly say what the anti-law crowd claims they say.
